BIOGRAPHY

Stewart Hendler just finished his second studio feature, Sorority Row, for Summit Entertainment. The darkly comedic horror film hit theaters in september of 2009 and is currently nominated for two Teen Choice Awards.

His previous film, Whisper, was finished in 2007. The supernatural thriller was produced by Gold Circle Films and Universal Pictures.

A graduate of USC’s film program, Stewart wrote and directed the short film, One. Winner of the Audience Award at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival, the visually stunning 35mm short quickly connected him with theatrical agents at CAA and caught the attention of major advertising agencies.

Between feature films, Hendler has directed commercials for clients including BMW, Motorola, Budweiser, Adidas, MTV, and the national Anti-Drug campaign and has been recognized as a “director to watch” in Shots Magazine, Boards Magazine, Shoot Magazine, as well as at Young and Rubicam’s “Young Guns,” the Clio awards and the Cannes New Directors showcase.

In 2008, one of his commercials was honored with an AICP award, and it remains in the permanent collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art.
